The most unique busking competition in New Zealand!  Busk on the streets of Gore during Queens Birthday Weekend and try not to Freeze Ya Bits Off while competing for huge cash prizes!

Entertain in a country music style and celebrate being in NZ’s capital of Country Music during the NZ Gold Guitar Awards & Country Music Week.

Auditions:
  • Noon to 2pm on Friday 31st May and/or Saturday 1st June
  • Register from 10am at Cairns Music Works, Irk Street Gore on the morning of the day you wish to busk, Registrations Essential
  • Entries close at Noon sharp for that days audition
  • Judging order is random, but order preference given to those with NZ Gold Guitar Auditions at the same time
Sections:
  • Entries will be judged on their music choice, we prefer Country Music
  • Unplugged Open: Acoustic entertainers without wires, $10 entry on the day
  • Plugged Open: Buskers with amplification of any kind, $10 entry on the day
  • Under 14 Open: Buskers aged 14 in any style, Free Entry
  • Under 14 Instrumental: Buskers aged 14 and under playing instrument only (no voice), Free Entry
  • Schools: any kindergarten, primary or intermediate level school, entered as a group (Friday 31st May only), Free Entry
Finals:
  • Heartland Hotel Croydon, 4pm sharp!
  • $5 door charge, under 14
  • Hot food available, Cash Bar, Dine in after show ends
